Project title: Entrepreneurship as a cross-curricular theme in elementary schools, 2015/2016

The project ''Entrepreneurship as a cross-curricular theme in elementary schools'' will be implemented by Association Initiative as a coordinator in association with partner elementary schools; Elementary School Prečko from Zagreb, Elementary School Vladimir Vidrić from Kutina, Elementary School Lipik, Elementary School Jasenice - Dugi Rat and Private Grammar School and Economic School Katarina Zrinski. The project is financed by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports.

The main long-term goal of the project is to improve and increase the entrepreneurial competencies and activities with students from 1st to 8th grade by introducing entrepreneurship as a cross-curricular theme in elementary schools. In all school subjects, in partner schools, entrepreneurial activities adopted through the learning process of each school subject will be implemented that will aim to acquire specific entrepreneurial competencies which pursue greater entrepreneurial activity. This form of teaching will be a pilot project in the partner schools with whom Association Initiative is working for the first time, while in Private Grammar School and Economic School Katarina Zrinski and Elementary School Prečko, which are long-time partners on projects for entrepreneurial learning, the project will be an excellent continuation of upgrading and increasing students’ entrepreneurial skills to a higher level.

With the implementation of experimental teaching in partner schools, the expected impact on the users involved in the project will increase the level of interest of young people for entrepreneurship as a field of action. Also, the effects of increased levels of knowledge of the teaching staff that will be trained in terms of using entrepreneurial terminology and methods of teaching will be achieved. A publication for elementary schools called ''Curricular activities of entrepreneurship'' will be created that will contain all the knowledge and experience gained from the implementation of this project, which can lead to replication of results, that is, the project activities in other schools nationally.

Through excellence to entrepreneurship
Project title: "Through excellence to entrepreneurship", 2014

The project is financed by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports, and the coordinator of the project is the Association Initiative. Partners in the project, in addition to Private Grammar School and Economic School Katarina Zrinski, are also Elementary school Prečko; Elementary School 22. Lipanj, Sisak; Elementary school Dvor; Elementary school Luka Perković, Brinje; Elementary school Ljubo Babić, Jastrebarsko and Association Gačanka, Otočac.

The main objective of this project is to raise entrepreneurial competencies with gifted children by introducing entrepreneurship as a cross-curricular theme in elementary school from 1st to 8th grade. Series of project activities will include, among other things, implementational series of workshops on entrepreneurship in partner elementary schools, the project will result in an increased interest of young people for entrepreneurship as an area of business, creating the basic concept of the curriculum to introduce entrepreneurship as a cross-curricular theme and to develop a variety of personal and social skills such as communication skills, teamwork, entrepreneurial, creative, organizational and coordination skills for all young participants, but especially for the organizers of the project.

One of the results will be the publication entitled "Entrepreneurship as a cross-curricular theme" that will serve as a kind of continuation of this praiseworthy project.

Project title: "Entrepreneurial cross-curricular activities as an incentive to the new elementary school curriculum'', 2014/2015

Association Initiative, in cooperation with the partner institution Private Grammar School and Economic School Katarina Zrinski, in January 2015, began the implementation of a project called "Entrepreneurial cross-curricular activities as an incentive to the new elementary school curriculum''

The project is financed by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports. Association Initiative is the project coordinator and partners involved in this project, alongside Private Grammar School and Economic School Katarina Zrinski, are: Elementary School Prečko from Zagreb, Elementary School 22. Lipanj from Sisak, Elementary School Luka Perković from Brinje and Association Gačanka from Otočac.

The project is in a way a continuation of the project "Through excellence to entrepreneurship - the introduction of entrepreneurship as a cross-curricular theme in elementary schools", which Association Initiative carried out in 2014 in cooperation with the project partners. The main objective of the project "Entrepreneurial cross-curricular activities as an incentive to the new elementary school curriculum'' is to sensitize society to the development of entrepreneurship through the creation of cross-curricular content of entrepreneurship in elementary schools. Through a series of project activities, which will include among other things, workshops for teachers and students on entrepreneurship in partner elementary schools, the project will result in the creation of entrepreneurial competencies among students through curricular content, popularization of education for entrepreneurship through the media, local communities, parents and other participants, and raising awareness about the importance of self-employment among pupils.

The ultimate goal of the project is to create an entrepreneurial environment and entrepreneurial society which will manifest through the strengthening of national economic competitiveness.

The main results of the project will be the publication of a reference book and production of promotional film called "Cross-curricular activities in entrepreneurship for elementary schools"

Project title: "Business Styling" (2013)
Donors to the action: Youth in Action Programme
Association Initiative is currently implementing the project entitled "Business Styling" from August 2013 till the end of January 2014. The funding of the project was approved within the Youth in Action Programme.

Objective of the project "Business styling" is the training of young unemployed people to find employment with so called - business styling that includes raising communication skills, education, employment (CV writing, finding ads and applications for a job, conducting job interview), group conversation (exchange of experience), individual counseling, inspirational lectures on successful employment, and practical activities through which the young students to become people ready to enter the labor market.

Project activities are intended as a theoretical and practical part of the project "Training modules - step up to the job" is divided into six modules, and will be run over six weeks. The practical part of the project "Part of the team" will take place three weeks ago, and as part of the activities of the young participants in a practical way to experience the work environment and the term of employment. Each of these activities will include about 25 young people, and young people from 5 Association Initiative.

This project will contribute to the significance of the importance of employment for young people, and young people will arrange such a great support for all future actions to be achieved in order to find the desired job. Also, this project will through its promotional activities affect the community regarding the importance of job opportunities for young people and age discrimination.

Project title: "For our healthy life" (2013)
Donors to the action: Youth in Action Programme
Association Initiative is currently implementing the project entitled "For our healthy life" from May till the end of October 2013. The funding of the project was approved within the Youth in Action Programme.

The main objective of the project is to encourage healthy upbringing of young people, with an emphasis on healthy lifestyle that encourages positive social relationships and physical activity. Thematically , the project focuses on health and youth leisure. The specific objectives of this project are the development of healthy eating habits, encouragement of physical activities, education on the negative effects of alcohol and tobacco, non-discrimination and social inclusion, and promotion of a positive social environment and relationships.

Project activities are envisioned as a combination of workshops and recreational sporting activities. Thus, in this project, which will last for 5 months, two workshops will be held: "Healthy Eating" and "The influence of alcohol and cigarettes on the body", as well as a set of sports and recreational activities "Physically activity and health" will be organized in order to encourage physical activity among the youth. Each of these activities will include about 30 young people - attendants (high school pupils) and 6 young people from the Association Initiative.

Project title: "Farmers become Entrepreneurs" (2013)
Donors to the action: Zagreb County (Croatia)
Association Initiative and Open University Petar Zrinski will implement the project "Farmers become Entrepreneurs". Project funding was approved by the Zagreb County through a public call for proposals, for co-financing organizations and to educate, retrain and empower the unemployed people in 2012.

The main objective of the project "Farmers become Entrepreneurs" is to increase employability of people in the rural areas of the Zagreb County and to contribute to the economic activities of farmers in this area. The project will result in development and implementation of education program called “Financial resources for farmers”, educating people to run their own business or to work on an other agricultural subject, increasement of employability of farmers in Zagreb County, better integration of the unemployed rural population into society and their financial dependence.

Contract on the implementation of the project was signed by the President of the Association Initiative Dragan Stanković, BSc. and Prefect of the Zagreb County MA Stjepan Kožić, BSc.

Project title: "Children's Week of Entrepreneurship" (2010)

Donors to the action: Ministry of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship (Croatia)
Objectives and results of the action: "Children's Week of Entrepreneurship” is financed by the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship. It was organized in 8 Croatian cities. The Project objective was to teach children about entrepreneurship and the value of their work. Implementation of entrepreneurial values in small children would help boost business sector in a long term period.

Project title: "Education For Entrepreneurship" for students of Unsko Sanski Canton (07/2007– on going)

Objectives and results of the action: Education for Entrepreneurship was conducted in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship. The main aim was to educate entrepreneurs on various essential themes, from the firm establishment to staff management and finances. The project was comprised of the following seminars: Defining direction of the entrepreneur development, Marketing, Business plan, Project management, Negotiation and communication skills, Risk management, Staff management, New business venture, Merging towards success, Quality management, Brand development, Debt management

Teachers that were giving the lectures gain excellent evaluation grades according to the anonymous surveys of the participants. For Academy Petar Zrinski (Zagreb, Croatia) it is crucial to have teachers that do not lecture according to the old-fashion ex-cathedra way, but trough dialog, workshops, practical examples aimed to accomplish maximal results in education. By the up-to-date approach in education, the participants gain knowledge and skills that are important elements in accomplishing their personal as well as social goals. By these seminars our institution is competitive with other educational institutions in Croatia and EU.
